Sven Gatz kijkt over de Rand

Natuurlijk moet Brussel-Halle-Vilvoorde gesplitst worden. Dat is een kwestie van goede afspraken en hopelijk ook van goede vrienden. Brussel is de tweetalige hoofdstad, Halle-Vilvoorde hoort bij het Nederlands taalgebied, bij Vlaams-Brabant, bij Vlaanderen.

Laten we dit dus gewoon doen, met een mengeling van redelijke afspraken en gezond verstand. Dan kunnen we verder. Dan kunnen we ons concentreren op de zaken die op ons af komen: hoe versterken we onze economie, hoe zorgen we zo voor meer jobs, hoe zorgen we dat onze sociale zekerheid betaalbaar blijft, hoe stellen we de pensioenen veilig…?

Na de splitsing moeten we de moed hebben om beter samen te werken. Voor de economie van ons land is de metropolitane ruimte in het gebied tussen Aalst, Mechelen, Leuven, Waver en Nijvel immers van levensbelang. Met Brussel als kloppend hart, als brandpunt, als internationale motor pal in het midden ervan. Dat vergt concrete afspraken over bijvoorbeeld een slimme verbreding van de Ring, over waar we in onze regio grote shoppingcentra inplanten, over een goed werkend netwerk van openbaar vervoer in een samenwerking tussen De Lijn, MIVB, TEC en NMBS, over hoe de bedrijven rond de luchthaven en Brusselse werkzoekenden met elkaar in contact komen, over sterke scholen in Brussel, over een veilige hoofdstad.

Daar wil ik me voor inzetten. Daarom kijk ik over de Rand, over de grens tussen Brussel en Halle-Vilvoorde heen. Daarom steun ik de Open Vld-lijst.

Sven Gatz dépasse la Périphérie

Soyons clair, l’arrondissement Bruxelles-Halle-Vilvoorde doit être scindé. De préférence, une scission avec des bons comptes entre – espérons-le – des bons amis. Bruxelles est notre Capitale bilingue, Halle-Vilvoorde fait partie du territoire Néerlandophone, du Brabant-Flamand, dela Flandre.

Alors, faisons ce qui doit être fait, avec un mélange d’accords raisonnables et du bon sens. En avant la musique. Après, nous pourrons entamer les défis actuels et futurs : comment renforcer notre économie, comment créer plus d’emplois pour tous, comment réorganiser une sécurité sociale durable, comment préserver nos pensions,… ?

Après cette scission, à nous tous de trouver le courage de coopérer, sans méfiance. Des projets conjoints dans la zone métropolitaine entre Aalst, Leuven, Mechelen, Wavre et Nivelles sont d’une nécessité capitale pour l’économie nationale. Parce qu’au milieu se trouve Bruxelles, cœur battant et moteur international. Cette réalité réclame des accords concrets sur un élargissement intelligent du Ring, sur l’emplacement des centres commerciaux, sur un réseau efficace de transport public, rendu possible par la coopération intense entre la STIB, De Lijn, le TEC et la SNCB. Facilitons des accords entre des entreprises de Zaventem et des chercheurs d’emploi Bruxellois, renforçons les écoles à Bruxelles et imposons la sécurité dans notre Capitale et son hinterland,… telles sont les principales cibles.

A cause de ces défis, voilà mon engagement. Voilà la raison pourquoi je dépasse la Périphérie, au-delà des frontières entre Bruxelles et Halle-Vilvoorde. Voilà pourquoi je soutiens la liste Open Vld.

Gatz looks Over the edge

Definitely, the Brussel-Halle-Vilvoorde district should be separated, on good terms and hopefully in equally good friendship. Brussels is the bilingual capital, Halle-Vilvoorde is part of the Flemish part of Brabant, of Flanders.

So, let’s just get this out of the way, with a mixture of reasonable consent and a healthy understanding of one another. Then we can move on. Then we can concentrate on the things ahead, like how to support our economy, how to create more jobs, how to preserve our social security and pensions, …

After the splitting of the B-H-V district we should have the courage to cooperate much better than we do today. The metropolitan space between Aalst, Mechelen, Leuven, Wavre and Nivelles is extremely important for the economy of our country. With Brussels as its beating heart and focal point, as an international motor in the midst of it. This calls for tangible solutions like an intelligent expansion of the Brussels ringway, the location of large shopping-malls, a well functioning network of public transport in cooperation with De Lijn, TEC, MIVB and NMBS, solutions for the instream of Brussels jobseekers in companies around the airport outside Brussels, for good schools and for a safe capital.

That’s what I am commited to. That’s why I gaze Over the edge, over the Flemish outskirts of Brussels, over the border between Brussels and Halle-Vilvoorde. That’s why I support the Open Vld list.
